Common questions

Is PlainPips free?

Yes. Every lesson, guide and tool is free to read and use, with no account and no email needed.

Do I need money to start learning?

No. You can work through the lessons and practise with the calculator without depositing anything. Many brokers also offer demo accounts with pretend money, which is the right place for your first trades.

How much money do I need to start trading gold?

With 0.01 lots, the smallest size, one pip on gold is worth $0.10, so a typical 50 to 100 pip stop risks $5 to $10. Keeping that to 1% of your account means roughly $500 to $1,000. You can trade with less, but each loss will hurt more. Never deposit money you can’t afford to lose.

Can I really learn to trade online?

You can learn how it works, how to manage risk and how to read a trade plan. Becoming consistently profitable is much harder, and most people who trade leveraged products lose money. We’d rather tell you that now.

Is PlainPips part of Traders World?

No. We’re an independent site. Traders World is a partner we recommend when you’re ready to practise on real trade ideas.
